How To get rid of Dust Mites

First to be able to learn how to get rid of  dust mites you must understand them a little. People may not think dust mites are a cause for much concern, but they are the largest contributor to allergies, only second to pollen. Dust mites can cause a wide-range of allergic reactions that include, but are not limited to itching, watery eyes, asthma, and hay fever.

There are some facts that you should familiarize yourself with, concerning dust mites, before going through the hard task of removing your home of the pests. For starters, dust mites don’t survive in a relative humidity below 50 percent; they don’t like places where it’s very dry. Also, can be 100,000 dust mites living in a square yard of carpet, because each egg-laying dust mite can lay about 25 eggs every three weeks. Dust mite feces contain protein substances that when in contact with the skin or inhaled produce a allergic reaction in some people.
In order to minimize your risk of becoming a victim of dust mites, there are steps you can take to control the dust mite population in your home.  People should wash their bed linens once a week; also they should buy and encase their mattress sets in allergen-impermeable covers.  Carpets should be vacuumed frequently and thick carpeting should be replaced. You should also keep the temperatureof your house at or below 70  degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure all the small dust collecting things you have around your house are either picked up or put away.
Dust mites thrive in high humidity conditions, but this can be controlled through de-humidifiers and air conditioners. To remove dust mite allergin from the air, researchers suggest an air filitration system, but especially ones that use a HEPA filter. Again, dust mites are everywhere, even in the dust on the smooth surfaces. In addition to dust mites, dust contains substances such as cigarette ash, mold spores, and cockroach droppings which can cause allergies Cluttered surfaces are also another breeding ground; it is recommended you keep smooth surfaces, such as the desk shown, uncluttered and clean to prevent the accumulation of allergy causing substances.
Unfortunately, you’ll never be able to truly eliminate dust mites from your home – the warm, dust-filled environment we create is just to tempting for them. However, by keeping your home as clean as possible with frequent washing and vacuuming, you’ll be able to reduce the impact they have on your life.
